The Coming Boomer Wave
I read a blog entry by Ramon Padilla on TechRepublic today and I completely agree with his assessment… Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that within 5 years a large number of employees will be retiring and taking a huge amount of institutional knowledge with them. The organization I work for has not publicly starting considering how this trend will affect it. Fortunately, our tech area won’t be greatly affected by this, because all of us are in our early to late thirties. However, I plan to seriously consider implementing some of Ramon’s suggestions to help with future employee turnover.
