Exchange Problem Explained
After some further problems with our Exchange infrastructure, we discovered a couple of bad fiber ends on our fiber backbone. We surmise that this was causing bad packets - and because one of our domain controllers was on the other side of the link, we feel that these bad packets caused corruptions in the Active Directory database - leading to its lockup condition. Everything seems to be fine after changing several cables, putting on new fiber ends, and replacing a couple of fiber modules.
